Meet Our Senior Pastor Paul V Temple

Paul and Lisa Temple officially started their ministry at First Baptist Church of Lexington, MO on March 1, 2017. They moved to Lexington from Alamogordo New Mexico where they were both involved in education. Lisa as a Paraprofessional and Paul as a physics teacher. During this time in Alamogordo Paul was the interim pastor at Mayhill Baptist Church until they moved to Missouri.
Paul pastored churches all over the United States. His last two pastorates, before moving to FBC Lexington, were in New Mexico. Bethel Baptist in Deming for 5.5 years and FBC Espanola for 2 years. Paul retired from full time ministry after leaving Bethel and taught school. He filled the pulpit at Calvary Baptist Church in Las Vegas, NM until called back into full time ministry at FBC Espanola.

During his time in New Mexico Paul was a member of the New Mexico State Convention Board of Directors as well as the state mission team. He was Moderator of the Southwest Baptist Association as well as moderator of the Santa Fe Baptist Association.

While at FBC Lexington, Paul has served as clerk and president of the Lexington Ministerial Association, and Moderator elect plus moderator of the West Central Baptist Association. In 2017 Paul was asked to be part of the Lexington fire and Rescue as Chaplin. A short time later he also became the chaplain of Lexington Police Department.

The years 2020-2021 were difficult years for Paul and Lisa as well as for the church. Covid-19 brought a lot of changes to personal lives as well as to the church. On the negative side attendance and income have dropped and have been slow to return. On the positive side out of the pandemic came online giving and live video from Sunday mornings, as well as Celebrate Recovery.
